Gaming Language as a Language Variations in Digital Humanities

This study examined the language used by players in online game Valorant. Gaming develops massively as a digital way of living. In humanities, variation virtual communication needs to be considered an essential milestone development. investigated specific use slang, which identified particular community. There were two goals this first, determine slang words during game, and second examine function these words. Data for collected one month consecutive including screenshots recording sessions. Results showed four categories Valorant players, with acronyms clippings more frequently (42,50% each category) than other Players convey emotional tactical messages. These functions identified, disapproval, criticism, support, praises. It was concluded that new gaming phenomenon humanities. Implications future research also discussed further development culture
